Age For Surgery

Rhinoplasty surgery is usually performed after the nose has reached adult proportions. For girls this is 16 years, and 17 years for boys.

Exceptions are a younger age if severe deformity is present and an older age if there is family history of late growth of the nose.

A convenient time for surgery is often at the completion of secondary school, before the commencement of tertiary education.
