Overseas PatientsChanges to indemnity insurance in Australia mean we can no longer treat patients from USA or Canada. Hospitals in Australia require surgeons to be fully covered by insurance but MDA National will not cover patients from USA or Canada due to the high cost of medical indemnity in those countries.We have introduced a fee supplement to cover the additional workload associated with our overseas patients. This covers the cyber consultations and the longer face-to-face consultations that are necessary. The fee was listed on the Fees and Charges page. |
