New Nasal Implant

Paul O'Keeffe and Porex Surgical, Inc. have developed an implant for nasal reconstruction. The implant is made from Medpor and accurately reproduces the shape of the nasal pyramid. The implant is in the form of a thin shell and is placed over the existing skeleton. Additional Medpor components may be added beneath the shell for nose enlargement. The first implant was used in February, 1999. Called the Nasal Shell it went on sale in USA in October, 1999.
